Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic role-playing simulation that allows participants to learn about global issues through research and debate. It asks participants to assume the role of a UN member state and to look at issues through a perspective that might be different than the students. It is a creative way to learn about varied viewpoints and perspectives, and highlights the often-complex nature of finding shared consensus on pressing international issues.
The Marian MUN Club was initiated on the first of October in 2021. The club has an international partnership with MUN Impact, a youth driven global community that believes in the power of Model United Nations to inform, inspire, and motivate its participants to action in support of the SDGs.
